At war with the weather. How you can help drought affected farmers.

IMG_4672Weather watching is something of a favourite past-time for most farmers.

It’s crazy to think that while Sydney is pummelled by rain, large parts of rural Australia continue to be gripped by severe drought.

Many properties are now facing their third year without decent rainfalls.

People often ask how they can help farmers. I found this great list of suggestions in the Queensland Country Woman’s Association Magazine, Ruth.

Suggestions include sending money, not stuff because ‘stuff’ means locals won’t be shopping at local shops, which are also heavily impacted by drought.

Donate through www.qcwa.org.au or visit one of the drought-affected areas and inject some funds in to the local community that way.
