Hundreds came to meet the farmers

Our second ever Kalfresh Carrot Field Day was enormous and a great success.

Everyone involved from the Kalfresh side had a brilliant time and judging by the looks on the faces of the visitors I think they did too.

While the water theme park for carrots (the washing and packing shed) impressed the visitors, it was without doubt the muddy paddock carrot-picking experience which really sealed the deal.

My sons, even after years of tromping around with dad, launched themselves into the mud with vigour. Mr Bean (that’s him on the crutches below) relished his role as chief tour operator (there’s nothing he enjoys more than talking about carrots!). I don’t think he bored anyone too much.

Thank you so much to everyone who made the journey to Kalbar to visit us, we appreciate your time and effort and hope that you go away and tell everyone you know to buy Australian carrots and where possible make sure they’re from Kalfresh!

Thanks to Sheila Higgins and Scenic Rim Regional Council for these great pics.
